Artist Statement

My work is a meditation on resilience, heritage, and self-discovery. Through clay, watercolor, and the textures of the natural world, I create pieces that honor both the everyday and the extraordinary, transforming personal and cultural narratives into modern artifacts. Each sculpture, each brushstroke, holds a story—one that reaches back to my roots and steps forward into places yet unimagined.

Inspired by the legacies of the women who raised me and the quiet rituals that defined my upbringing, I explore themes of identity, beauty, and healing. My journey with alopecia led me to view art as both refuge and reckoning, a way to process loss and reclaim my identity in a world that often asks us to conceal our scars.

In my art, you’ll find combs that echo the weight of memory, colors that speak of both mourning and joy, and textures that invite touch and contemplation. I work slowly, allowing the materials to guide me, trusting in their quiet wisdom to reveal what is needed. My hope is that each piece becomes a place of connection—a reminder of the strength we carry, the beauty we create, and the roots that ground us.

An Invitation to Explore

Art has taught me that healing is a journey, one that begins within and radiates outward. My work is here as an offering, a place where you might see yourself, connect with your roots, or simply pause to reflect.
